Bitter almond

< 1 min read

The wild, bitter form of the almond tree (Prunus dulcis var. amara), native to southwestern Asia, whose kernels carry amygdalin, the source of prussic acid. No find shows that the bitter variety reached New Kingdom Egypt; the series takes it as present, a step of its own.
