Egyptian per-aa: originally the royal palace and its estate, by the New Kingdom a respectful circumlocution for the living king himself — a way to name the monarch without naming him, and the direct origin of the modern word "pharaoh." In the series it is how Horemheb addresses Tutankhamun.
