Great Hymn to the Aten

< 1 min read

The long hymn of praise celebrating the Aten as universal creator, known from a single copy, now damaged, in Ay’s tomb at Amarna; often compared with Psalm 104. Attested; authorship by Akhenaten himself is tradition, not proof. The Short Hymn, carved in several Amarna tombs, is a different composition.
