Regent

One who governs on behalf of a king too young to rule. No formal Egyptian office of "regent" is attested for Tutankhamun's minority; the record instead shows powerful officials — Ay and Horemheb above all — dominating the government. The series' regency structure is a narrative construction on an attested power vacuum.
