Sycamore

The sycomore fig, Egypt's great shade and orchard tree, sacred to Hathor "Lady of the Sycamore." Its figs fed rich and poor, its soft timber built coffins and furniture, and its shade by a garden pool was the very image of a good life, in this world and the next.
