Thutmose I

< 1 min read

Third king of the 18th Dynasty (throne name Aakheperkare), the soldier-pharaoh who carried Egypt's arms to the Euphrates and south past the Third Cataract and, by tradition, the first king to cut his tomb in the Valley of the Kings; his name lived on in the Memphis palace 'of Aakheperkare' that the Restoration Stela names as Tutankhamun's residence.
